The Principal´s Pen
Here we are at the start of August 2024 with only 147 days to Christmas!
As many of you already know, on 12 July 2024 I suffered a bad heart attack. Fortunately, I realized what was happening and took myself to the ER at a nearby hospital where through their medical intervention saved me. I was transferred to another hospital where I was attended by a cardiologist who conducted an angiogram and fitted stents in the left upper chamber of my heart.
It was a setback for me and our business whilst I recovered at home. I was not allowed to work, drive or lift or carry anything.
The good news is that I am alive and getting stronger every day. I have started working and driving again. Gratefully, Daniel flew from Spain to stay with us and to support me as I continue to recover. That has been such a blessing.
Last month we informed you about some important changes that we will make to ensure that the Advanced Diploma in Illumination Engineering course remains the leading e-learning course in the world, that it remains to be relevant and up to date with all technological advances in the lighting and lighting control arena.
Unfortunately, due to my ill health as I mentioned above, the submission of our final documentation to EAHEA has been delayed. We have received confirmation that our accreditation is imminent and that as soon as the final documentation, the accreditation logo will be displayed on our website and documentation. All that will be awaited will be our Certificate of Accreditation which is numbered. You can imagine how excited we are.
We wish all students, both First and Second Year students well, as they prepare for the final examinations for their respective years. It is an exciting time for the students and equally exciting for us especially when they graduate.
I will have more to flow from my pen next month to give you more interesting reading. Until then, as always, have a fantastic business month. We look forward to seeing you online at the webinar.
With best regards.
Philip Hammond
